"IN CONVERSATION WITH" Hector J. Velazquez
Hector is a Sonoma County entrepreneur and community leader. He is Principal of Nexo Media Inc. and Nexo Vibe Cloud (formerly Nexo Radio), Executive Director of the Sonoma County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Founder of the Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) — a Santa Rosa entrepreneurship hub backed by $4.5 million from Sonoma Clean Power that supports underrepresented business owners. He was named 2026 Executive Director of the Year by the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce out of 135 chambers and received the 2019 Latino Business Leadership Award. Hector is a Windsor resident since 2003.
If U.S. Latinos were a country, they'd be the world's fifth-largest economy — $4 trillion and growing faster than nearly every nation on Earth. In this presentation, Hector Velazquez brings that story home to Sonoma County: who our Latino entrepreneurs are, the outsized role they play in our local economy, the barriers still holding them back, and the concrete ways local businesses, institutions, and partners can share in this growth. Attendees will leave with a clear picture of the opportunity in their own backyard and practical ways to be part of it.
