Windsor Dia De Los Muertos is our Member of the Month (Chair: Angelica Nunez)\n\nMs. Murray will present two topics of interest to Chamber business members: Economic Recovery Strategies and Climate Change/Resilience\n\nAbout NBLC: Principles of the North Bay Leadership Council: Economic Vitality and Quality of Life are driven by Healthy and Sustainable Communities which include:\n\nA growing and competitive economy that provides jobs for North Bay residents with wage levels that support families and economic self sufficiency\n\nAn education system that prepares students for jobs in the 21st Century and provides lifelong learning opportunities for all residents\n\nA transportation system that enhances mobility and goods movement into and out of the North Bay\, and promotes regional connectivity as well as efficient commuter options\n\nSufficient\, quality housing to meet demand at all income levels\n\nHealthy communities with safe neighborhoods\, open space\, recreational and cultural amenities\, and access to healthy food choices\n\nOpportunities for all residents to achieve and maintain optimal physical and mental health\, including access to quality\, affordable health care\n\nA reliable supply of high quality water and efficient wastewater system that recycles and reuses water to enhance the water supply\n\nStrong partnerships between the profit and not-for-profit sectors to enhance quality of life\n\nPolicies that recognize the value and contribution of a vital manufacturing community in the North Bay\n\nPolicies that recognize the value and contribution of small businesses in the North Bay\n\nAn adequate infrastructure system including communications\, transportation\, water and other utilities\, and local alternative energy resources\n\nA regulatory system that protects the environment\, is transparent\, consistent\, predictable\, cost-effective\, and based on reputable science that supports clean air and water\, and water and energy conservation\n\nCivically engaged residents who are connected to their community.\n\nMs Murray's Bio:\n\nCynthia Murray is President/CEO of North Bay Leadership Council (NBLC). She serves on the boards of many organizations including the Bay Area Council Economic Institute\, First 5 Sonoma County Commission\, Sonoma County Health Action Council\, Marin School to Careers Partnership and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's Policy Advisory Council. Murray chairs the Marin County Housing Crisis Action Group and is a strong advocate for new housing. She received the 2010 Women in Business award from the North Bay Business Journal for her achievements in economic development. North Bay Children's Center made her their Champion for Children in 2017. And in 2019\, she was the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce's Woman of Industry.\n\nPrior to becoming CEO at NBLC\, she served eight years on the Marin County Board of Supervisors and seven years on the Novato City Council\, including one term as Mayor.\n\nMs. Murray is a graduate of Rutgers University\, spent 20 years in sales and marketing\, and is an adjunct professor at Sonoma State University.
